We were very pleased with the standard of rooms which were clean and comfortable and it was a pleasure to find the bathrooms in excellent order - Clean & Fresh and no mould in sight!!!
It has a nice lounge and bar and is convenient for both beach and metro.
We would definately recommend and stay again when next in the area. Andrew & Sonia were excellent Hosts.........

We went up for the weekend for the Great North Run and had a fantastic stay at Oak Tree Lodge. We c*** have asked for a better place to stay. We were made at home and well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were very comfortable, spacious and exceptionally clean. Would highly recommend

Thank you Andrew & Sonia, for your friendly and considerate hospitality. Oaktree Lodge is ideally situated, being only a minute way from the sea front and beautiful sands, and less than 5 minutes from the town centre and Metro station. First class accommodation and excellent breakfasts,in clean and spotless surroundings. Also able to use our Bus pa** on all local transport(but not the Metro)with good connections to both Newcastle and coastal towns. Everyone is so friendly "Up North".Will be returning as we have not yet visited Beamish. The local markets are a must, especially Tynemouth's Sunday market in the Metro Station itself only 5 minutes away. Will recommend you to all friends and Family

We had a great extended stay at the hotel over the August Bank Holiday and were more than satisfied with the accommodation, friendly welcome and service. We also really enjoyed the area, its excellent public transport, wonderful views and seaside environment as well as sightseeing in Newcastle and Durham. Thanks for a really good stay!

We stayed at The Oaktree with Andrew & Sonia on 16 & 17 July 2008. We had decided to stay at a Guest House instead of an hotel for 'that personal touch', and you certainly got it at The Oaktree with Andrew & Sonia, they were extremely welcoming on our arrival and helpful about the area. The rooms were immaculately clean and very nicely decorated. The breakfast was more than ample and the breakfast table itself was very nicely presented. We would have no hesitation to stay there again and would recommeded it strongly to anyone visiting Whitley Bay.

Dear Andrew,
I have always enjoyed staying in Whitley Bay – as I have been visiting for many years now, since I was a very young child - which was made even more enjoyable with my stay in The Oak Tree Lodge.
I am grateful to you & Sonia for making my family & I very welcome while we stayed!
I found the level of cleanliness to be extremely high – and not just by teenage standards…
Your friendliness & attention to detail really were the icing on the cake.
I stayed for 4 nights in July 2008, and my advice for anyone thinking of staying at The Oak Tree Lodge would be…..
The Oak Tree Lodge is by far a hotel with exceptionally high standards – in many areas, such as cleanliness, friendliness & fair pricing - my family & I were made to feel very welcome and I will be back at The Oak Tree Lodge in a few months to come!
I found the bar area to be very impressive with the large plasma screen together with the wide selection of drinks available, not to mention the friendly & welcoming atmosphere.
I certainly did not leave disappointed with my stay!
I would recommend The Oak Tree Lodge to anyone, as I know their high standards will impress!
I have stayed in a few hotels in Whitley Bay – as there are quite a few to chose from - but The Oak Tree Lodge is by far one of the best, if not the best…
I look forward to visiting again!!!!
Kind Regards,
Pete Russell
