Spotlessly clean, well maintained and extremely well laid out. The attention to detail from the proprietors (Andrew and Sonia)along with the "nothing is too much trouble attitude" is what really makes the difference. Added: February 6, 2012

Andrew is lovely, is customer focused without being intrusive and his breakfast was excellent - breakfasts can make or break a hotel stay - the rooms were very clean and well stocked including green tea! Leon From: Sowerby Bridge Website: E-mail: leon.massey@spiewhs.com	I have stayed in several guest houses within the Whitley Bay area and if i were to say the Oak Tree Lodge stood out from the crowd then i would be making a massive understatement. In all my years of working away from home i have never stayed in accomodation with the level of excellence as the oak tree lodge without having to pay well over £100 per night. Andrew and Sonia are the most professional hosts with a personality and approach to guests that immediately makes you feel as if they were guests in your own home. I look forward to staying with them for the forseeable future and would reccomend that anyone who wishes to stay in Whitley Bay do the same ( as long as I still get a room that is ) Added: August 16, 2010

We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived at your excellent hotel. The room was spotless and very inviting after our long journey. We would not hesitate to recomend a stay with you, the breakfast was excellent especially as it was locally sourced, although I didnot need to eat for a day or two. Ian & Linda Downes From: Scotland Website: E-mail: ianinstantservice@yahoo.co.uk	After VERY bad experiences at other hotels/guest houses it was a real pleasure to stay with Sonia and Andrew. The whole place is very clean, welcoming and modern. Andrew & Sonia were helpful in the extreem and full of advice on where to eat and visit etc. We will definately visit them again in future. My wife and I felt that both Sonia and Andrew couldn't do enough for us and provided that personal touch that you just don't find anywhere else. One note though, if you want a doss house, don't stay at the Oaktree, but if you want quality, this should be your first and ONLY stop in Whitley Bay. Added: December 13, 2009

Thank you for being great hosts, you both made us feel very welcome. Family room clean,well decorated, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast great and adequate portion. Nice lounge and bar.
